Overview

Tanjung Puting National Park is one of natural wonders and one of the oldest rainforests also the largest wild orang utan population in the world. Cruise on a riverboat through remote stretches of ancient rainforest in searching of wildlife and head out under cover to experience the jungle’s mysterious. You’ll relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery on Sekonyer river.  Encounter with the wild orangutants and other wildlife.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Iskandar airport of Pangkalan Bun, a friendly guide will welcome you for transfer to the port of Kumai. On arrival embark the klotok, then immediately crossing Kumai river for Sekonyer river - the main river of the National Park. In the peaceful day, we will slowly explore the quite river by klotok to observe the wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, long tail macaques, birds along the riverside.
Dinner is served on boat.

The boat is equipped with very simple mattresses, pillows and toilet facilities. The cook will prepare all meals, coffee, tea and mineral water.

Mosquito nets are available on the boat.

🔥Pangkalan Bun Airport to Kumai Pier : 9,3 km (17 minutes drive)

Enjoy your fresh morning in the middle of Sekonyer river, which is particularly impressive at sunrise. The breakfast is served, while the Klotok cruises slowly through the magnificent forest towards Pondok Tangguy to see the feeding at 09.00 AM. Afterwards cruise to a side creek through tea colored water to see the perfect reflections from the vegetation along the river. Lunch is served on boat. Next visit is Camp Leakey, to see the afternoon feeding session at 14.00 pm. Camp Leaky is the research center where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. Set off on an easy and pretty trek through the tropical rainforest to see orangutans, birds and other rainforest animals and jungle plants. Keep an eye out for noisy gibbons, deer and wild boar. Return to the boat for dinner and move to a quiet mooring for the night.

The Klotok will set sail early this morning towards port of Kumai (depend on your flight schedule). After a farewell breakfast, you will be escorted by your guide onwards to the airport to catch up your flight.
